Ich gucke mich mal um, was es morgens im SB-Restaurant gibt. Laktosefreie Milch finde ich hier nicht. Dafür mehrere Omelette-Stationen, die es ja auf der ALLURE OF THE SEAS 2015 nur ganz versteckt gab. Wir erfahren später beim Chef's Table: Ein Becher Naturjoghurt kostet in der Beschaffung aus UK kostet umgerechnet 2 USD: Kaum zu glauben: warum laden sie nicht einfach in Cobh? In der EU sind ja Lebensmittel anders subventioniert. Congee wird hier nicht angeboten.



I look around to see what's in the self-service restaurant in the morning. I can't find lactose-free milk here. Instead, there are multiple omelet stations, while one was utterly hidden on ALLURE OF THE SEAS 2015. We find out later at the chef's table: a cup of natural yogurt costs the equivalent of 2 USD when procured from the UK: Hard to believe: why don't you load it in Cobh, Ireland? Food is subsidized differently in the EU. Congee is not offered here.

After the rain yesterday, the weather is quite lovely today. Unfortunately, there is not enough time for a beautiful sunset in the evening.



Nach dem Regen gestern ist das Wetter heute ganz schön. Leider reicht es am Abend nicht für einen schönen Sonnenuntergang.

Einzigartig: Seaday-Brunch von 08:30 Uhr bis 12:00 Uhr. Es müsste so sein wie auf der VALIANT LADY 2022: Ende am frühen Nachmittag. Ein erweitertes Angebot. Die Deckenleuchten mit den Glaskolben erinnern uns an unsere 1. und 50. Reise: LILI MARLEEN 2006 und OCEAN COUNTESS 2012. Sieht genauso furchtbar aus! Es gibt ein paar Gerichte nur gegen Zuzahlung: allerdings als andere Gäste nach Grits fragen, wird leider mitgeteilt, dass leider nichts an Bord ist. Es gibt auch Steak and Eggs. Dafür musste ich zuletzt auf der OOSTERDAM 2023 bezahlen. Und ich denke an unseren letzten Aufenthalt in The Haven auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2018. Hier gab es Steak and Eggs nur für Suiten-Gäste. Sagen wir mal so: es war eine nette Abwechslung, aber so richtig tolles Fleisch war es jetzt nicht. Aber für mich war es genau die richtige Größe. Etwas merkwürdig schmeckt die Butter. Sie wird ja hier so komisch aufgeschäumt. Unser Extrawunsch wurde uns erfüllt: Congee. Sogar richtig lecker. Ich frage nach, ob noch Reste im Topf sind, und dass ich sie gerne hätte. Stattdessen setzen sie es nochmals für mich auf. Bruno versucht sich an den frisch gepressten Säften, aber da kann man keine Sonderwünsche äußern. Sie wurden bereits fertig zusammengesetzt.



Unique: Seaday brunch from 08:30 hrs to 12:00 hrs. It should be like on VALIANT LADY 2022: end in the early afternoon. An extended offer. The glass bulb ceiling lights remind us of our 1st and 50th voyages: LILI MARLEEN 2006 and OCEAN COUNTESS 2012. It could look better! There are a few dishes only for an additional fee: however, when other guests ask for grits, they are unfortunately informed that there is nothing on board. There is also steak and eggs. I recently had to pay for this at the OOSTERDAM 2023. And I'm considering our recent stay at The Haven on NORWEGIAN JADE 2018. They had steak and eggs for suite guests only. Let's put it this way: it was a nice change, but it could have been better meat. But for me, it was just the right size. The butter tastes a bit strange. She's being frothed up here in such a weird way. Our extra wish was fulfilled: Congee. Even tasty. I asked if there were any leftovers in the pot and that I would like them. Instead, they set it up again for me. Bruno tries his hand at the freshly squeezed juices, but no special requests exist. They have already been assembled.

Our ship already has Starlink. It's a lot better. There are still a few dropouts. For 10 USD (2023), we're upgrading to Premium. It's a tad better again. However, for chatting, 5 USD (2023) is taken extra. We had already booked the internet in advance, which worked well. We also get a proportionate 1/3 of the costs back.



Unser Schiff hat bereits Starlink. Es ist sehr viel besser. Ein paar Aussetzer gibt es dennoch. Für 10 USD (2023) machen wir ein Upgrade auf Premium. Es ist nochmals einen Tick besser. Für das Chatten wird jedoch 5 USD (2023) extra genommen. Wir hatten das Internet bereits vorab gebucht und das hat gut geklappt. Wir erhalten auch anteilig 1/3 der Kosten zurück.

Wir wollen mal unsere Kabine zeigen, wenn sie morgens hergerichtet ist und bei der Gelegenheit auch Henry vorstellen. Der ruft ständig für uns einen Techniker ran, damit sich die Situation mit der Klimaanlage verbessert. Wir bekommen Trinkgläser für das Bad, weil es keine Zahnputzbecher gibt.



We want to show our cabin when it's ready in the morning and introduce Henry on the occasion. He keeps calling a technician for us to improve the situation with the air conditioning. We get drinking glasses for the bathroom because there are no toothbrush cups.







Draußen fährt eine gute Freundin vorbei: sie war mal ein wunderschöner Schwan, als wir mit ihr unterwegs waren, aber nach dem Umbau ein hässliches Entlein: ISLAND PRINCESS 2013.

We're only on board for six days. i.e., we need quick fixes to have the rest of a nice cruise. After the blankets didn't even come yesterday, I need a solution NOW and contact the hotel manager Alina without further ado, who is supposed to find a quick remedy. She talks to the right people: without further ado, the air supply is regulated down. However, the temperature still needs to be corrected. But we can regulate it with the help of the balcony door. I receive the overview of the privileges. I should be able to find them on the app, but I need help finding them. That's how I find out that I can at least get a bottle of water for us at every bar and that we also get discounts when shopping in the logo shops.



Wir sind nur sechs Tage an Bord. D. h. wir brauchen schnelle Lösungen, damit wir noch eine restliche schöne Kreuzfahrt haben. Nachdem gestern noch nicht mal die Decken gekommen sind, denke ich, dass ich JETZT eine Lösung brauche und wende mich kurzerhand an Hoteldirektorin Alina, die für eine schnelle Abhilfe sorgen soll. Sie spricht mit den richtigen Leuten: Kurzerhand wird die Luftzufuhr runterreguliert. Die Temperatur stimmt jedoch noch nicht. Aber wir können es etwas mit Hilfe der Balkontür regulieren. Ich bekomme die Übersicht der Privilegien zugestellt. Ich sollte sie auf der App finden, aber ich finde sie nirgends. So erfahre ich, dass ich zumindest noch eine Flasche Wasser an jeder Bar für uns holen darf und wir auch Rabatte beim Einkauf in den Logoshops bekomen.







A parade runs through the ship. With cooperation partner Dr. Seuss, A children's book author. Here the motto family breakfast is similar to that on QUANTUM OF THE SEAS 2014 with the DreamWorks-Characters. Unfortunately, that didn't mean anything to me, so I decided not to participate.



Eine Parade läuft durch das Schiff. Mit Kooperationspartner Dr. Seuss. Einem Kinderbuchautor. Hier gibt es das Motto-Familien-Frühstück so ähnlich wie auf der QUANTUM OF THE SEAS 2014 mit den DreamWorks-Figuren. Mir sagt das leider gar nichts und so habe ich auf die Teilnahme verzichtet.



We like it quieter and want to avoid having lunch in the self-service restaurant again and visiting Bonsai. There we order the sushi boat with miso soup and salad. The tuna mango tartare is delicious.



Wir mögen es ruhiger und haben keine Lust wieder im SB-Restaurant zu Mittag zu essen und besuchen Bonsai. Dort bestellen wir das Sushi-Boot mit Miso-Suppe und Salat. Der Thunfisch-Mango-Tartar ist sehr lecker.

Die musikalische Untermalung im Atrium ist klasse. Zunächst die Streicher, die sogar später Pachelbels Kanon in D-Dur spielen und mich zum Weinen bringen. Und später sitze ich um die Ecke und konnte nicht auf die Bühne blicken: ich dachte, dass Gladys Knight "Midnight Train to Georgia" singen würde.



The background music in the atrium is excellent — first, the strings, which even later play Pachelbel's canon in D-Major and make me cry. And after I was sitting around the corner and couldn't see the stage: I thought Gladys Knight would sing "Midnight Train to Georgia".









Team Leader Clifford, but this time with Ida Bagus and Pande. Unfortunately, there is no Clamato on board. I get the Virgin Mary instead. I had previously ordered the Clamato with little ice. I call him ice-cold and extremely hot. Unfortunately, I can't drink it like this. It doesn't matter: we need more on-board credit. I had imagined the pies to be a little different. There's even lobster. Recently, on OOSTERDAM 2023, it was not part of the regular offer: only as an additional offer or as a guest of the hotel manager. He was short. Instead of a second one, I'd rather have a slice of prime rib. I canceled the broccoli with the lobster, but it's returning with the prime rib.



Etwas befremdlich: die frühen Gäste werden nicht mit den besten Tischen am Fenster belohnt. Das sollte meines Erachtens aber schon das Privileg der frühen Gäste sein, die besten Plätze zu bekommen. Wir sind wieder unter dem Schirm des Team Leaders Clifford, aber dieses Mal bei Ida Bagus und Pande. Leider gibt es keinen Clamato an Bord. Ich bekomme stattdessen den Virgin Mary. Ich hatte ja vorher den Clamato mit wenig Eis bestellt. Ich bekomme ihn eiskalt und extrem scharf. Ich kann ihn so leider nicht trinken. Ist egal: wir haben ja genug Bordguthaben. Die Pasteten hatte ich mir etwas anders vorgestellt. Es gibt sogar Hummer. Den gab es zuletzt auf der OOSTERDAM 2023 nicht im regulären Angebot: nur als Zuzahlangebot oder als Gast des Hoteldirektors. Er war etwas klein. Statt eines zweiten nehme ich lieber eine Scheibe Prime-Rib. Ich hatte ja beim Hummer den Brokkoli abbestellt, aber mit dem Prime-Rib kommt er wieder zurück.

Wir gehen in die Show des Gastkünstlers Marcus Anthony. Eine tolle Show, mit der er schafft das Publikum einzubinden und einzuheizen. Wir sitzen zufällig hinter Cruise Director Frankie (mit seinem Assistenten JayJay): beide tanzen und singen mit. Von JayJay bekomme ich später die passende Nadel zur CARNIVAL PRIDE. Natürlich muss ein Selfie mit seinem Team sein (hier noch mit Makaykay). Leider mussten wir Show ein paar Minuten früher verlassen, da wir unbedingt ins Atrium wollen, um die Vorstellung der Senioroffiziere zu sehen.



We're going to guest artist Marcus Anthony's show. A great show with which he manages to involve and heat the audience. We sit behind Cruise Director Frankie (with his assistant JayJay): they dance and sing along. I will later get the right needle for the CARNIVAL PRIDE from JayJay. Of course, there has to be a selfie with his team (here with Makaykay). Unfortunately, we had to leave the show a few minutes early because we wanted to go into the atrium to see the senior officers' performance.

We're fortunate because we catch a corner where the senior officers have to go later to get to the atrium stage, so I take a selfie with Captain Roberto as he exits.



Wir haben total Glück, weil wir eine Ecke erwischen, in denen die Senioroffiziere später vorbei müssen, um zur Atriumbühne zu kommen und so gelingt es mir beim Verlassen ein Selfie mit Kapitän Roberto zu machen.

Wir gehen noch einen guten Espresso trinken und lernen so noch Monique kennen, die uns auch toll den Kaffee zubereitet. Zu schade, dass es hier nur Pappbecher gibt. Arlianty ist aus Indonesien. Ich muss daher von einer Fachfrau probieren lassen, ob es guter Kopi Luwak ist, den ich mithabe.



We go for a good espresso and get to know Monique, who prepares the coffee. They should have served paper cups here. Arlianty is from Indonesia. So I have to have a specialist try it to see if it is a good Kopi Luwak that I have with me.



Es gibt ein Zuzahlangebot als Pop-Up im Mermaid's Grille: Seafood Corner. Leider gibt es dort keine Menüs oder Beilagen. Man muss also hier den Fisch oder Meeresfrüchte bestellen und sich dann vom SB-Teil die Beilagen holen. Ich probiere die New England Clam Chowder: sehr lecker - nur leider keine Cracker an Bord.

So you have to order the fish or seafood here and then get the side dishes from the self-service section. I try the New England Clam Chowder: delicious - unfortunately, no crackers on board.

Ich möchte zum LQBTQI-Meeting. Ich bin eine Stunde vorher schon da. Mich bedient keiner. Ist mir aber auch egal. Ich zahle keine 18%, um mich anzustellen, um mir es selbst zum Platz zu bringen. Das mag "normal" für andere sein - für mich allerdings nicht. Es ist auch kein Platz an der Theke, dass ich im Sitzen bestellen könnte. Also wird heute Abend kein Umsatz gemacht. Weitere Schwule treffe ich leider nicht. Im Laufe der Cruise sehe ich auch nur sehr wenige schwule Paare an Bord. Später kommen Frankie und sein Team vorbei und Frankie lässt es sich nicht nehmen selbst mit der Musikerin auf der Bühne zu singen.



I want to go to the LQBTQI meeting. I'll be there an hour before. Nobody serves me. But I don't care either. I don't pay 18% to get in line to get to the seat myself. This may be "normal" for others - but not for me. There is also no place at the counter to order while seated. So no sales will be made tonight. Unfortunately, I don't meet any other gays. During the cruise, I also see very few gay couples on board. Later Frankie and his team come by, and Frankie insists on singing with the musician on stage.
