Tag/Day 12.6 auf der/on CARNIVAL SPIRIT in Honolulu, O'ahu, HI

 border=0

Around 14.00 hrs we went finally for lunch. It was again an insider-tipp which you might know from Travel Channel: Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations who introduced Ono Hawai'ian Food. The Hawai'i-show can be find on You Tube: Part 1, Part 2 und Part 3. As we learned already: Ono stands for yummy.

It was so little and tiny: if you want to have lunch or dinner: get inside to register and wait outside for a table. And they do not accept any credit cards. I was so lucky to see the ATM few minutes before... but my bank does not take any fees if I withdraw money with my bankcard abroad... So I can go again without anger.

Inside the pictures of celebrities who ate here already.

And again Richard Chamberlain who crossed our rails already on Kau'ai in Hanapepe.

Until now I could defend myself successfully to try Poi but Shigi got a taster portion for all of us... I could understand paiagirl (Frances) who can only eat it with some sugar und I was sure that I knew this from Home Depot: all you need for home decoration - wallpaper department. A porridge made of taro roots...

On the other hand the menu looked very familiar to us because we knew most already from Lisa's menu Hawai'i (Big Island).

Why were there no hamburgers??? Is Hawai'i not a part of the USA and their eating habits.

Well that was the combo which should be for two persons who did not know what to eat... The tomatoes in the front were salmon.

There we had the Kalui pig which we knew already from Lisa.

I embedded myself to try something local: Laulau.

Meat wrapped in tarot leaves: pork with me and chicken with all others. The leaves were not my world while all other liked it very much. But the pork was very good...

At the end you got as usual the Haupia-dessert.

We went to another place we knew from the German TV: Hilton Hawai'ian Village.

It was exactly like in the TV. Only the penguins I did not find.

But I am afraid that I need to collect another 10 - 15 years...

Very typical: a wonderful scenery for your wedding pictures.

Hotel guests get arm writs and receive an umbrella and deckchair. External need to pay a fee.

Vacation in paradise.

Urlaub im Paradies.

Und mittendrin eine Lagune.

And right in the middle a laguna.

More for the kiddies to be active and independent from any sea current.

And surf training.

The theory could be done under the palms.

With Lappert's we indulged ourselves with ice-cream and coffee or what ever.

Everybody enjoyed the ice cream.

Bruno enjoyed double as they had there his Kau'ai-coffee.

So I stayed with my iced coffee drink. I was very tired and need caffein in cold portions.
